festival season is approaching! with some of the biggest festivals realeasing line ups and getting everyone excited, tickets are flying off the shelves. So to get us all in the mood before we start buying our tickets and getting our tents out, we’re going to look at some Manchester student/ student alumni bands that have played some amazing UK festivals!
Manchester Psych Fest
Manchester student alumni surf punk band Pyncher there some moody shapes at last years Manchester Psych Fest. Featuring on the O2 Ritz basement stage, they played alongside names such as Black Midi, Kurt Vile, The Coral and Goat Girl.
Stockton Calling
On Saturday the 8th of April, all female student band King Violet will be playing Stockton Calling alongside Circa Waves, the Sherlocks, Sleeper and more! After their debut EP, Do Me A Favour, released in November last year, the band have been taking the scene by a storm and we cant wait to see what’s next!
Technicolour Festival
Last year, one of our favourite Manchester bands, Tigers and Flies, features at the two date Technicolour Festival. With performances at both the Hope and Ruin in Brighton and the Finsbury in London, Tigers and Flies played alongside bands such as Dutch Criminal Record and Trudy the Romance.
Intermission Festival
This April the 22nd will be a day to remember with a whole load of our favourite student and student alumni bands playing at two Northern Quarter locations, 33 Oldham Street and Aatma. This fantastic day will feature the Strangerz, who have just released the amazing new single Hit The Ground, Monday Moon Child, King Violet, CatbandCat , Brand New Legs and so many more!
Cut Loose Festival
Last but not least, all of these amazing bands and so many more played at our Cut Loose Festival last year. With performers including Rosie Charles, who has just released her new single Bus Stop Lover, Evie Eve, who excitingly has her new single December on the way, Yasmin Coe, Big Foot and so many more, the day was truly something to remember.
It is safe to say that all these bands (and of course so many more) have made some amazing appearances at these festivals. we absolutely cannot wait to see what’s next… Glastonbury 2030 headliners anyone ?!
